It’s a PYO 🌽 🌽 🌽 again at Secretts. It’s exceptionally good weathered weekend. The band stand is drumming, the crowds are buzzing, falcons are squeeking, and everything is as it should be. Greg aka Stannis Baratheon just returned from Spain and going again after pumpkins 🎃 PYO. Got ourselves a loyalty card at the Barn Butchers 🔥 and some solid meat for a fall bbq. Ha sta la vista ! 🕺 💃

This year, we went for a day and evening shenanigans at the 🌽 PYO festival with some country music 🎶. Life band, hay, a one man band out in the 🌽 fields, @crumpyssmokeshack brisket and wild 🤪 🌺 flowers !!!
Greg just returned from his holidays in Spain 🇪🇸 good to hear he could’ve taken a holidays this season.

🎃 PYO. Immense fun. The team has gone over and beyond in styling the walk to a scary Halloween season. We brought 2 newbies this time, one which has never been at any farm, ever. Turned out he was the one with most unforgettable experience (video calls with family live with 🎃 and 🌽 to another side of the hemisphere 😂). We saw Greg doing a table service and running around but didn’t manage to catch him this time for a chat. It’s easy to spot Greg, he resembles Stannis Baratheon from GoT.
We enclose Secretts’s very own recipes for readers to DYI.
🛒 this time around: PYO 🎃 🧅 🧄 🫚 🍋 for the 🥣 sausages from the butchers and 🧀 🐐 🐑 🧈 and some old school 🍬 pumpkin 🎃 spicy rum punch, pickles and nibbles.

This time, we have been to PYO asparagus, because we were curious how asparagus grows. On our way through the fields, we came across a lot of other produce, like a 🥬 or a pheasant running around. Came back with an asparagus quiche, Howkins Bro elderflower and pink bubbly 🍷 , Godminster 🧀, Bon Bon’s 🍬 and some obligatory lamb chops, 🥩 and sausages. A brief chat with Greg, the 4th generation owner about days on the farm and how things going, was lovely, too.
We hope visitors enjoy the farm as much as we continuously do. We will be back for 🌽 festival,

After a 25 mile round-trip, we made it
And it didn’t disappoint
It was enjoyable and chilled and safe enough to solo parent there with both of my girls
All of the staff were really helpful, kind and considerate
Weather there were a lot of safe places to get out of the Sun with them lots of lovely food and lots of lovely activities for the kids. I wonder 2 to 3 hour time killer.
Definitely do more of these over the summer periods and maybe introduce things like bouncy Castle Inflatables pig races all of that sort of stuff, but we definitely still got our money’s worth
