Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking panoramic views from Fan y Big and the unique 'Diving Board' rock formation, making it a highly recommended hike. While the challenging terrain and potential for harsh weather are noted, the rewarding scenery and sense of accomplishment are consistently praised.

"Can hike to Pen Y Big from 2 directions which has it's own carpark. Do it as part of the Pen Y Fan horseshoe or just on it's own. Both take some considerable time to get there. Always been unlucky with the weather when we hiked but we only done this mountain in the bleaks of winter so not sure what the views look like but they're probably stunning. Wash board stone is the marker of the peak"

"Fantastic walk up the side of this hill. I especially enjoyed the fact that we had a real reason to take this walk. The Diving board! We took a 10 mile circular walk that started and ended in llanfrynach. Great photos and of course magical views. The path is very well maintained and you will meet other hikers along the route."
