Jumping into Hutch on a sunny day is always my idea of fun, but it’s made even better when this is the destination. Watching Cogges Manor Farm, home to so many childhood memories (and now also famous as the farm in Downton Abbey) come alive for its Spring Fair was such a beautiful way to spend a morning. We even popped a lamb in the back of Hutch for a photo, and it was so hard not to take him...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Cogges Manor Farm for its historical charm, beautiful gardens, and friendly farm animals, making it a delightful outing, especially for families and Downton Abbey fans. While the entry fee is noted by some as a bit high for the current offerings, the well-maintained grounds and engaging manor house provide a worthwhile experience. The cafe is appreciated for its good quality food.

"Fantastic place for families. Charming house and garden with the sweetest little Pygmy goats and other farm animals. They have decent facilities like a cafe, parking and they also allow dogs onto the farm. My dog absolutely loved seeing all the animals. Luke was really helpful and informative, as we arrived shortly before closing time he allowed us some extra time and to feed the goats. Thanks a lot, we had a lovely time and will be back again."

"Traveled from London for the first time to go here it was ok the kids had a litte day out there was not many animals which was disappointing. We went for the Halloween event they had crafting which the kids enjoyed with a bouncy castle. They out on a disco which was mucic in a barn with disco lights which could of been really good however it was empty when we got there. I went with my dog and a word of warning there turkeys do not like dogs and they chased us trying to attack my dog had to pick him up so if you are visiting with a dog stay clear of turkys. We visited the house which we could see alot of work went into it but was a shame it wasn't more spooky themed it did however have a Disney kind of them going round the house but it didn't take to long looking round it and for the price was a little disappointing. The kids had fun and it was worth exploring but I won't be returning again"

"I would give the other two stars if the entry fee was lower than it is, which is £10.50 each for two 70 yr olds.
Very few animals no real interaction or someone to guide you around the house.
A good cause but definitely needs something to occupy all who arrive.

Parking set away from the farm but a pleasant off road walk, to gain access.
The parish council also needs to ensure signage is free from overgrown hedges/trees as car park not easy to find, due to signage being covered.

The talk given to us in the sitting room was excellent and what we expected, for the monies charged. But unfortunately that was it downstairs. Up stairs had a couple of recordings. The one in the office was excellent.
Maybe an old fashion maid calling system in the rooms to pull , push to set off a recorded talk or a type of hand held radio to carry, to hear the history.. Or activities to participate in.
The café was ok and reasonably priced. A good mug of tea!
Can’t say we didn’t enjoy it as we are both enthusiastic about keeping history alive. We also realise the cost of upkeep is difficult. But sometimes, making it more affordable or more enticing, could encourage more paying visitors..Speculating to accumulate.
We wish you all well, hoping for more success for the future"
