"Lots to say about this visit…
I’ll start with the positives:
- all staff were excellent. Very friendly, helpful and genuine
- Food in La Vista was amazing
- Afternoon tea was great (very tasty and filling, staff here were stand out!)
- Breakfast was very good
- Pool area nice
- Grounds nice
Areas requiring improvement:
- No doorman on arrival
- No reservations available for restaurants though they were quiet when we checked. We did get a table but not on the night we wanted or times.
- Unable to get spa access
- Our reservation for Afternoon Tea was missing (we did get it though)
- Bed sunk badly in middle
- Room very cold on arrival - had to get engineer twice to fix it
- Cold bathroom floor
- Bedroom door slammed
- No soft close on toilet seat
- Bad lighting in Scots bar - stark bar lights (this was fixed by second night as the shaded has been changed angle). Lots of lights needing changed due to bulbs being out.
- Temperature in The Grill was far too cold - guests had keep jackets on
- Lack of entertainment beyond 9pm on Friday
- Room not been cleaned and had sign on all day, even after complaining and giving them an hour, it still wasn’t done!"
