"Picturesque spot which my family enjoyed visiting, however I don't think I would return. We arrived on a sunny Sunday afternoon and the road was complete chaos. There was no traffic management and cars were stuck for a long time. We could not actually get through to where we had planned to park, therefore had to leave the car at the side of the road alongside about 300 others as we had already wasted over 30mins waiting in a queue. When we returned every single car had been issued a £100 parking fine (£50 if you pay quickly), so just beware of this, and perhaps going at a less busy time would be advised. The beach was nice, however it is a pebble beach, so very uncomfortable trying to get in for a swim unless you have some appropriate footwear."

Navigating the Crowds and Parking
If you do encounter traffic, be patient and aware of parking regulations. Illegally parked cars can incur substantial fines, as one family discovered after a frustrating wait. Planning your visit outside of peak times is the most effective strategy for a stress-free experience at this beautiful Loch Lomond spot.
Embracing the Pebble Beach Experience
If you plan to swim or wade into the water, wearing sturdy footwear is highly recommended. The pebbles can be uncomfortable underfoot, but with the right shoes, you can comfortably access the water and enjoy a refreshing dip. The clarity of the water and the surrounding scenery make it a worthwhile experience despite the beach's composition.
Photography and Drone Opportunities
For the best photographic results, consider visiting during the golden hours of sunrise or sunset for softer light. Even on overcast days, the dramatic Scottish weather can create moody and atmospheric scenes. Drone pilots will find Milarrochy Bay an excellent location to capture unique aerial perspectives of the bay and its picturesque setting.
