What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Uzuncaburç Diocaesarea for its impressive ancient ruins, particularly the monumental columns of the Temple of Zeus, and the scenic, remote location. The drive itself is often highlighted as a spectacular part of the experience. However, some find parts of the site closed due to reconstruction, and the road conditions can be challenging.
"First of all, the place can't be easily reached by car. The place is in the middle of nowhere (50 minutes from Erdemli e.g., the nearest bigger town), the quality of the roads are bad.
We could see relatively few ruins of the open air museum, because a quite big part, incl. the theatre is under reconstruction. But the "remaining" part is still remarkable.
The infrastructure of the museum is solid, but you may have a good tea, Turkish café or some local products in a little shop.
In a valley nearby a Necropolis can be visited, it's worth to go there.
For sure, that not only Diocaesarea is interesting, but the remained parts of the ancient Olba, like the aquaduct, theatre, the ruins of old buildings near to the road, and roughly 3-4 km from the open air museum. Museum Pass Turkey is accepted."

"The location is superb, its located on a hill in the middle of nowhere. It’s a great drive from the coast. Uzuncaburç s green and quiet. The site itself is pretty small but nonetheless nice to visit. You have a couple of (remains of) temples and an amphitheater (closed due to renovations)."
Wiecher Van Der Laan
"Recommended for visiting! It is convenient to walk, but without a wheelchair, Parking is available. Some sites have been closed, and excavations are continuing. In 2023, the ticket price was 60 liras. No money was charged from our group of six people on Sunday, for the children and the pensioner, only 120 lira from two adults. The photos came out beautiful."
