"A surreal, yet moderately preserved site, though difficult to navigate and best avoided outside the winter and spring months (very hot otherwise). You'll likely have it entirely to yourself, as it's rarely visited , bring lots of water. Access is only possible through Teboursouk. The site is poorly organized, with little information available and minimal oversight from those responsible. Still, it's a true gem among the Roman ruins in Tunisia."

"Dougga is probably one of the largest and best preserved Roman ruins I have seen outside of Europe. The theatre is still in quite good condition and many of the other areas are more than just foundations. It can take two or three hours to walk around the whole site. There are some things an extended way out from the main area.
This was the first time I had seen cisterns like this for storing water, they are quite impressive. There are still a few mosaics, but it looks like most have been moved to Bardo museum.
This is one site that is definitely worth a visit."
