What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Tham Pha Nang Khoi for its stunning, colorful lighting and unique limestone formations, calling it a 'fabulous cave system' and a '5-star experience.' The free admission and ample parking are also highlighted as positives. However, the rough steps leading to the cave make it inaccessible for those with mobility issues, and the low light can be a challenge for photography without a tripod.
"I visited this cave 4 years ago but then it was closed down but now it was open to visitors. Parking on site is fine, and there is free access to the cave, and you organize yourself without guides.
There is a short distance to walk, uphill with stone steps leading up to the entrance to the cave. For those who have slightly claustrophobic tendencies, there is an opening at both ends of the cave, so should something happen, there is an opportunity to get out. It was only me in the cave during my visit, and of course it was dark for the light to do its job. Narrow wooden bridges have been made to get through, where necessary, and it was a nice experience to get through the cave.
As you can see from the pictures, I went out at the other end, before starting the return trip. In terms of photography, the darkness was a challenge for the camera, and a tripod would certainly have made the sharpness of the images somewhat better, but it was not available. The place is recommended for anyone who has the opportunity to visit, but the trip up and down from the entrance can be a challenge if you are not quite mobile."
