Reviews Summary

Chatuchak Weekend Market is an iconic Bangkok experience, offering an overwhelming yet exhilarating array of goods from fashion and food to home decor and antiques. Visitors love the sheer variety, the thrill of bargaining, and the authentic street food. However, the immense size, intense heat, and crowds can be challenging for some.

"A lively and diverse shopping destination that offers a bit of everything. With around 15,000 stalls spread across 27 sections, it’s easy to spend a few hours exploring without even realizing it. The market offers a wide variety of items, including clothes, accessories, home décor, plants, antiques, handmade crafts, books, and even pets. The food options are also a highlight, there’s plenty of delicious street food like grilled skewers, Thai iced tea, coconut ice cream, and mango sticky rice.

Prices are generally affordable, and bargaining is expected, which adds to the experience. What I liked most was the mix of traditional Thai items and unique finds that make for great souvenirs.

However, it can get very hot and crowded, especially in the middle of the day, and the layout can be a bit confusing for first time visitors, with limited signage. Despite that, it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s recommended to go early, wear comfortable shoes, and bring cash, as not all stalls accept cards and if they do, a 3% service charge is often added.

Overall, it’s a fun way to experience the city’s culture and local flavors in one place."

"Also called JJ market by the locals.

This is a one of a kind shopping experience and the world's largest weekend market with 15,000 shops. If you are a shopping junkie, please be careful, because it is a labyrinth. You can get anything and everything.

One pro tip to navigate fast is, pick your blocks (there are 29 in total) and stick to it. I love shopping and I wanted to explore everything, so I took a stroll and spent the whole day still not enough. You can get clothes, accessories, decor, souvenirs, handicrafts, antiques, food and beverages and you can buy customized slippers.
I had the best Green Curry in on the stalls, it was just amazing.

You can reach Chatuchak by taxi or by MRT (metro)

1) Kamphaeng Phet MRT station
2) Chatuchak Park MRT station"

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk here. Be prepared to have a big carry bag for all the purchaser you will be making. We got shirts, pyjamas, dresses, bohemian decor and more here.
We had lunch, drinks and lots of desserts there which were all yummy."
