Reviews Summary

Pemba Island is celebrated as an unspoiled paradise, offering a tranquil escape with stunning natural beauty and vibrant marine life. Visitors rave about the pristine beaches, exceptional diving and snorkeling, and the genuine warmth of the local people. The island's untouched charm is a major draw, though the limited hotel infrastructure requires advance booking.

"Many of you have probably already visited the main island of Zanzibar – Unguja, but has anyone visited the neighboring island – Pemba? I had the pleasure of doing so, and I wanted to recommend a trip to this island because, despite my concerns, I was very pleasantly surprised 😍— on Pemba Island, Zanzibar.

We flew to Pemba from the international airport on Unguja (I highly recommend flying during the day because the views were stunning!). I always dreamed of visiting a wild, tropical island and seeing what life was like before mass tourism, and that’s exactly the experience I had on Pemba ☺️☀️.

Pemba is beautiful! 😍 I love Unguja and have been there several times, but Pemba was still quiet, peaceful, incredibly green, and completely untouristy! I suspect that’s what Unguja looked like a dozen or so years ago…

I was captivated by the paradise-like beaches, where there was practically no one, and the dense palm forests that covered the entire island. We also took a trip to Misali Island (15 minutes by speedboat from Pemba) and saw beautiful, untouched coral reefs – again, with no other tourists, just us. When we wanted to head back, wild dolphins began swimming around us, and the experience was truly magical ☺️.

The only problem on Pemba, for now, is the poorly developed hotel network – there are literally only a few on the island, so you need to book your trip in advance. On the other hand, this is a good thing because there aren’t crowds of other tourists.

If you're considering visiting Pemba, it's really worth it! I was thrilled, so I'm passing the recommendation on to you! ☀️🌴

👨‍👩‍👧 Families with Kids

Pemba Island offers a unique family adventure, especially for those who love nature and marine life.
