"We made a detour to Divrigi just because of the Great Mosque and Hospital. We learnt that it was re-open a few weeks ago after 8 years of restoration. It was totally worth it! Unfortunately, the hospital is still in restoration, so it is not open yet. But the mosque itself is worth a visit. The security guard was very nice and he tried to explain the history and key facts to us through google translate.
Make sure you catch the shadow of the man reading the quran at the exit portal 3pm-4pm in summer time. In the early morning, there is a woman shadow at the portal at the Mosque's entrance too.
The hotels in Divrigi may charge more for foreigners, so we camped at the ridge behind the Great Mosque for a night. For those who bought a tent with them, you may consider camping as an option."

"Amazing Mosque and hospital with serene water fountain. It was built in 1228–1229. Ouijdane had honour of singing here. Located centre east of Turkey, 2 hours drive from Sivas. A hidden gem. We also drove to the top of the mountain next to mosque and walked on the glass with mountain drop underneath. Luckily the glass is strong and does not shatter ir it is a long fall down the mountain!"
