Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking beauty of Torrent de Pareis, calling Sa Calobra beach a slice of paradise. The challenging canyon hike is a highlight for adventurers, though it requires significant fitness and preparation. The scenic drive is also a major draw, but can be daunting for some.

"We did the hiking trail through the canyon starting at Sa Calobra until Escorca.

It is challenging and you should only do it with proper shoes and a good level of fitness. It has several climbing parts - some can be challenging, especially if you are not experienced in climbing.

Having said that, we had a lot of fun and it was a good challenge.

It is possible to get a taxi from Escorca down to Sa Calobra. You find the number, when you Google "Taxi Escorca".

We needed 3:45 hours from start until the end and only did some short breaks.

My recommendation is to bring enough water and if you reach a part where you feel uncomfortable, turn around - it's only getting more challenging after the first climbing parts.

If you start at the Canyon and just do the first 45 minutes of the way, it's still nice and you will have some easier climbing parts."

Gerhard Soyka

"We walked the canyon on June 23, 2025, with 6 people, without wet shoes, from Sa Calobra beach to the Escorca bus station. It was so dry that we ran out of water in the last two hours of the climb. A lot of water with us! We underestimated the situation. The route is quite ambiguous in places, we had to turn back sometimes, which was not always easy in the exposed terrain. The first 1.5 kilometers are scenic.

Then you have to go around a huge rock on the right through the forest on a well-trodden path that cannot be climbed without a rope. Then the rocks get bigger and adrenaline-fueled bouldering begins on smooth steps. Climb with at least 2 people. Sometimes team support is needed when climbing. A fat person will not be able to climb some narrows passages!

Good physical condition is necessary. We climbed up to the finish line for 5.5 hours. The monumentality of the gorge is very impressive. You are accompanied by goats, which is unforgettable!"

Kenny Perzeus

"5-hour hike through Torrent de Pareis from Escorca to Sa Calobra—challenging but worth it! Navigation was tricky, especially in the lower part, where we backtracked a couple of times. If you’re new to climbing, a guided tour is a smart move; the terrain is rugged but manageable with caution. The water crossings at the bottom were a highlight—likely seasonal, so expect wet feet and slippery rocks! Bring good shoes and a dry bag."
