"It is really helpful for musicians."

"I went on the guided tour during the Fira Modernista on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Our guide, from 3Turons, was the historian, very kind and charming, and explained everything to us in detail. (I've posted many different photos of the interior of Casa Josep Maria Coll i Bacardí on Google Maps.)
A large 750 m² building, spectacular both inside and out.
The property is fenced with pillars decorated with ceramic trencadís and a Modernist wrought iron gate with floral details.
Sgraffito with plant motifs on the façade.
Inside, there are beautiful hydraulic cement tile floors, each room different, like a carpet.
High decorative baseboards on the wall.
Sliding wooden window, ceilings with decorative plasterwork. The kitchen is originally small, with a vaulted ceiling, a large built-in hood, and a wood-burning oven.
Marble staircase and wrought iron railing.
At that time, they didn't put curtains on the windows; they used shutters to keep dust out.
We climbed the stairs that almost took us to heaven.
The terrace offers stunning views from there. We can also appreciate the roof, decorated with glazed ceramics, as well as the tortoiseshell.
On the façade, two important elements stand out: the gable with the image of Saint Joseph holding Jesus in his arms. It was the work of sculptor Cèsar Cabanes, located in a crowned fornicle.
Another striking detail is a Gothic window that possibly comes from old demolitions of buildings on Via Laietana in Barcelona.
History:
The Coll i Bacardí House (Bauman House)
This modernist building is located at Av/ de Jacquard, number 1. It was designed by architect Josep M. Coll i Bacardí.
Born in Barcelona in 1878, Josep Maria Coll i Bacardí obtained the position of municipal architect in November 1911, until his untimely death from a lung infection on March 24, 1917.
He initially lived in a house at number 2 Sant Quirze Street, inaugurated in 1916
In 1913, the architect built Casa Baumann as his own residence.
After carrying out a development project for the Vallparadís Torrent, he designed it as a municipal park. Several industrialists of that time also built their residences (Casa Salvans, Torre Soteras).
The project was to develop the torrent as a "Garden City," a setting far removed from the "bad fumes" emanating from the factories.
After the architect's death, his family sold the property to the Masdeu family, who renovated the house in 1926.
Later, the next owner would be the Swiss wool representative Ernst Baumann.
He lived there until 1960.
Josep Colomer i Montmany would be the next to live in the house, continuing the wool business.
Finally, in the 1980s, the property passed into the hands of the city council. Terrassa. After a renovation, it is currently the municipal headquarters of the Servei de Joventut i Lleure.

"Bauman's House. Or however you spell it. Once a year they used to have (or maybe they still do... I don't know) a get-together with snacks and such... The thing is, the vast majority of the attendees are Muslim... So, knowing this, don't put out ham sandwiches... Because nobody will eat them!! It was common sense what was going to happen."
