What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the church's beautiful architecture and the peaceful ambiance within its walls. The Holy Week processions are a standout experience, noted for their organization and devotional fervor. While most interactions are positive, some have found clergy to be overly direct when seeking personal guidance.
"I went t the church to ask the priest if I could book for a blessing in my house and he started asking me how often I have confession and what was the commandments that had nothing todo with what I was asking him , I told him I came here for help with the blessing of the house .He started saying your a sinner and said you are not allowed to have holy water because you are not a priest to bless your house . He made feel so small and my heart was so hurt as if Iv done something so wrong here on earth, I’m a practicing catholic and in uk my priest was shocked by the way he treated me .I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone as the church is our Lords house and they are there to help our Lords sons and daughter but I’m very disappointed with the priest actions and may God help him be nicer to the people in Santapola 🙏."

"A vacationer in Santa Pola for many years, we always dedicate time to prayer in memory of our family members and for others.
A beautiful church. Year after year, we see the same parish priest, a representative in the house of the Lord, spreading joy in his entertaining Mass.
Regarding the processions that take place during Holy Week, they are worth seeing for their brotherhood-like organization and exuberant carvings with exquisite embroidery.
One of the things I love most is the dedication of the song to the Holy Christ and the Virgin, offered every year by the same person from the balcony of their home.
The surroundings are silent. The procession approaches to the sound of drum rolls, subdued in anticipation. Not the slightest sound can be heard. The little dogs present remain silent as a sign of utmost respect as the song begins to be offered to the images.
In my opinion, it's a must-see attraction that you can't miss during Holy Week in the town of Santa Pola."
