Reviews Summary

Playa del Delta Maioris is praised for its stunning natural beauty, crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling, and serene rock pools. Visitors love the tranquil, local feel and the spectacular sunset views. However, the rocky terrain requires water shoes, and one visitor reported a concerning car break-in, advising caution.

"Delta Beach is perfection. We’ve been going daily for a swim and it’s easily our favourite spot in Mallorca. Don’t let the rocks put you off. The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming or snorkelling, and the natural pool carved into the rocks feels like a mini Bondi. Parking is free and we’ve never had trouble finding a space. It’s a short walk down to the cove. Sea shoes are useful as the rocks can be slippery, but it’s worth it. It’s quiet, never crowded, and feels like a local spot. There’s a beach club and restaurant just above with great sunset views."

"WARNING- we stayed here for less than 15 minutes and had to leave after discovering our car window had been shattered. This happened in broad daylight while parked nearby. We felt unsafe and wanted to warn others to be cautious if you plan to visit this area. Nothing in the car was left visible. We just want to warn others because we were completely dumbfounded and had take the entire day (and longer) to take care of the situation. Incredibly unexpected but a reminder to be aware."

"It is an amazing place, the view is incredible! There is no sand beach, only cliffs and rocks, so if you want to put sun umbrella, it is impossible. But it is perfect place to snorkel."

Navigating the Rocky Terrain

Playa del Delta Maioris is a unique cove characterized by its rocky landscape rather than soft sand. Visitors consistently emphasize the need for water shoes to navigate the terrain safely. The rocks can be slippery, especially when wet from the sea, and sharp in places. This makes them ideal for exploring the natural pools carved into the cliffs, but less so for simply lounging on a towel. The walk down to the cove is described as a little steep, so comfortable footwear is key for the entire experience. Reddit+1

While the rocky nature means you can't easily set up a traditional beach umbrella, it also contributes to the cove's charm and its suitability for activities like snorkeling. The natural pools offer a more secluded and protected swimming experience, often compared to mini versions of famous city pools. Embrace the rugged beauty, and you'll find a rewarding natural environment. Reddit+1

The crystal-clear waters of Playa del Delta Maioris make it an exceptional spot for snorkeling. Many visitors rave about the abundance of beautiful fish they encounter, highlighting the vibrant marine life just beneath the surface. The visibility is consistently praised, allowing snorkelers to fully appreciate the underwater world without much effort. Reddit

To make the most of your snorkeling adventure, it's advisable to bring your own gear. The rocky seabed and the presence of natural pools mean there are plenty of nooks and crannies for fish to inhabit. The clarity of the water ensures that even casual snorkelers will have a rewarding experience spotting various species. Reddit

Safety and Security Considerations

While Playa del Delta Maioris is often lauded for its tranquility and local feel, one significant concern has been raised regarding car break-ins. A visitor reported their car window being shattered in broad daylight while parked nearby, leading to a significant disruption and a feeling of unsafety. This incident serves as a stark reminder to be vigilant about security, even in seemingly peaceful locations. Reddit

It's crucial to take precautions such as keeping valuables out of sight or, if possible, not leaving them in the car at all. Always be aware of your surroundings and take sensible measures to protect your belongings. Reddit
