High-fives before dinner? Every. Single. Night. 🙌🍽️ At Iberostar Waves Club Cala Barca, the boys couldn’t wait to greet everyone – from the cooks to the cleaners to the managers. Reviews Summary

Guests consistently praise Iberostar Club Cala Barca for its exceptional staff, extensive family-friendly facilities, and diverse dining options. The beautiful cove beach and engaging entertainment program are major highlights, making it a highly recommended destination for a memorable holiday. Minor issues like occasional ants or plate cleanliness are noted but do not detract significantly from the overall positive experience.

"We have stayed at this hotel for the sixth time and have always had a wonderful holiday, with everyone treating each other in an extremely friendly way. This holiday, for the first time, there was a small incident for which no one was at fault. The staff simply needed some help, and we were met with incredibly friendly assistance. I can only express my gratitude and truly appreciate being at this hotel. 🙏👌

Above all, I would like to highlight that the manager, Abel Paniagua, does an outstanding job, the kind I have rarely experienced, and which many more exclusive resorts could learn from. Absolutely recommended, especially as there are hundreds of possibilities for family members, from the pool and beach to activities, entertainment teams, and more. The rooms are always kept perfectly clean, with fresh towels provided daily, and every request is attended to. The pools are exceptionally well maintained, cleaned every morning, and the hygiene standards are excellent.

What we especially want to highlight is the food, one of the many highlights we enjoy here. It is wonderfully varied and truly better than in many other hotels.

We love it here."

"A candid story of our week after just returning back home to Scotland on July 23rd.

Arrival at around 11pm on 16th July, greeted with beautiful drinks, cocktails for the adults and cold drinks for the kids. A bit of admin to do which was a bit tiring after travelling all day, arriving so late, with 2 very grumpy kids. Probably here at check in for about 20-30 mins.

Taken to room by one of their little buggies, block 46 on top floor, great location as less than 1 minute walk to the beach but maybe not best for people with mobility issues due to the stairs and hill up to main area.

First full day, noticed quite a lot of ants in our room, at this point was worried how the holiday would go as some were on my kids bed, which was very concerning given how my kids overreact to things! I raised it to reception and they said the room would be deep cleaned on next scheduled clean. I trusted what they said, and it did somewhat improve but smaller numbers of ants were still there for the majority of our stay until our final day. Overall the kids didn't even complaint to much which is probably because they had such a great time and were so tired each night.

FOOD/DRINK - All the food and drink choices were good - particularly enjoyed the Mexican and the beach BBQ, although most of the time the food was lukewarm at best - tasty enough though. Hot fresh cooked food at the food trucks and the snack bar by the smaller pool next to our room were very good. The ice cream parlour is brilliant too, lovely flavours especially lemon, pistachio. I often found it difficult to find a 'clean' glass or plate - I think it's probably been down to the volume of glasses/plates being used and washed in bulk - maybe something they could look at as I found it was constantly wiping marks off them before I could use.

POOLS - Our kids loved all the pools, for different reasons. Our youngest loved the splash pool, our eldest loved the main pools near the stage - we had to compromise with them regarding where we'd go each day as sunbeds were pretty difficult to come by unless out looking for them before 9am.

FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT - A special mention to the entertainment team (and all the staff tbh), they are truly exceptional, and all the external entertainers who came were incredibly talented - our favourite were the African Acrobats and the Circus people, based on the jawdropping stunts they performed, however the Cartoon Heroes was brilliant too, unbelievable choreography from the Cala Barca animation team. The evenings are so jam-packed with fun and events - the tall Spanish guy, Dani, hosts a lot of the events and he is brilliant at engaging the crowd and creating a really fun environment, normally starting from the quiz through to the main show and then the last event of the night such as Silent Disco on the beach (brilliant fun for us and great memories created).

The other events for adults are pretty good, I thoroughly enjoyed the adult football events and the run club - something to keep up the fitness with all the overindulgence. There was so much going on though, something for everyone, it was constantly bustling and very very busy which may not be ideal for everyone.

My final thing I'd like to say, something which will be most memorable for my family, was the song they play each night and encourage everyone to dance to it. This was our first time away from Scotland with our kids and it was so lovely to look forward to and take part in this song every night - even my youngest, a shy 4 year old boy gave the dance everything he had. It's a brilliant little song and dance.

SUMMARY - Ants aside, and a couple of gripes re the food/plates and glasses, I'd 100% go back here as it was full of brilliant moments because of the high quality events put on by the team, a special first holiday for my kids, thank you to all the staff at Cala Barca."

"I recently stayed at the Iberostar Selection Cala Barca Hotel for 9 days, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, with a brilliant variety of options, and the drinks were just as impressive.

The swimming pool, activities, and shows were all fantastic. Personally, I loved the Rock Show, but my kids were completely enchanted by the Frozen performance—truly something for everyone. The restaurants were excellent, the staff were incredibly respectful and attentive, and every interaction made our stay even more enjoyable.

I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I have ever visited. Since 2019, I hadn’t found a place that could match my last amazing holiday experience—but Iberostar Cala Barca has absolutely surpassed it. I am definitely coming back! It was an extraordinary experience, and if I could, I would give 10,000 stars.

Special thanks to Danny—he is unbelievable! You truly need to keep him forever. Also, Robert and Luci were outstanding. Every single staff member contributed to making our stay perfect.

Thank you all for such a wonderful experience!"
