What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
While the Senda del Duero GR-14 Aranda section offers a scenic riverside walk, it is severely let down by a lack of maintenance, with numerous safety concerns like sinkholes and deteriorated railings. Visitors express disappointment over the neglect, urging local authorities to address the issues to restore the trail's appeal and safety.
"A beautiful walk along the banks of the Duero.
It's a shame the GR14 is in such a neglected state.
Please, someone (the Regional Government, the Confederation, the City Council) should do something.
The deterioration and lack of maintenance is notable.
Hundreds of people walk or exercise here throughout the year.
We already knew what a riverbank is when the GR14 project began.
- The sinkholes, the floods, the landslides...
The solution isn't to block access to the GR14.
Do something!! There are only four points, which require minimal solutions.
Lamenting the misfortunes won't be the solution.
The GR14 has more complicated sections in Quintanilla de Arriba, which have been resolved with walkways and railings.
In the Aranda section, the railings are completely deteriorated - maintenance is zero.
People are plugging the sinkholes with sticks and branches. Thanks to the firefighters who put up metal fences in June.
They've gone all summer without fixing the landslide!!! And in the end, people are just stumbling through like goats...
A real shame."
