"I didn’t stay there but i was driving around this village its really nice! recommended if youre in namhee"
MAHFUZ KAMAL
"We went to Namhae for Oktoberfest and it was a lot of fun! When you arrive for this festival you park at the bottom of the hill and then they bus you to the top. There were a lot of tents selling food (pretzels, sausages, beer, ribs) and souvenirs. There were two large tents for entertainment and beer. There were a few things for kids to do- a small play area and a balloon artist. They had ice cream that was delicious! The village itself is very cute. I can see why people enjoy visiting here!"
Meredith Guarino
"It does look like a small village in Germany. The entrance fee to the museum is okay and affordable. Everything in the museum is also labelled in German. Unfortunately the food variety is limited to sausages, pig's trotters, and beer. Still it was interesting to see!"

The Unique History of Namhae German Village
Today, the village stands as a colorful and picturesque community, attracting tourists with its European-inspired houses and seaside location. While it offers a glimpse into this specific historical migration, it's important to note that it has evolved into a popular tourist attraction that blends Korean tourism elements with its German theme.
Visitors can learn more about this history at the village's museum, which often features exhibits and information in both Korean and German. This historical context adds a layer of depth to the visual charm of the village, making it more than just a pretty place to visit.
Experiencing the 'German' Atmosphere
During events like Oktoberfest, the atmosphere becomes particularly lively, with tents set up for food, beer, and entertainment, mirroring the famous German festival. This is when the village truly comes alive with music and a festive spirit.
However, it's worth managing expectations regarding the authenticity of the 'German' experience. While the visual elements are present, some visitors note that the food offerings are often a Korean interpretation of German cuisine, and the overall vibe can feel more like a Korean tourist attraction with a German theme rather than a direct replica of a German town.
Culinary Delights: What to Expect
Cafes within the village offer a range of beverages and light snacks. For instance, 'Namhae Da Cafe' is noted for its ham and egg sandwiches and German sausage sets, providing a pleasant spot to relax and refuel.
It's important for visitors to be aware that the 'German' food here is often adapted to local tastes and preferences. While it offers a thematic dining experience, those seeking highly authentic German cuisine might find the options limited. Prices can also be a consideration, with some visitors noting that the food and drinks can be on the expensive side.
