What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tshukudu Game Reserve generally receives positive reviews, with guests praising the incredible wildlife sightings, particularly the Big 5 and abundant rhinos. The comfortable accommodations, delicious food, and friendly staff are frequently highlighted as major positives. However, some reviews mention a need for lodge maintenance and investment to match neighboring establishments.
"Our family had an amazing experience at Tshukudu! The accommodations (Cottage and Safari Tent) were perfect, and having our own pool overlooking the reserve was perfect for the family! The outdoor shower at the tent -- showering under the milky way! -- was an amazing way to end the day. I had a late-night Elephant visit me at the tent's fence line, which was an unexpected thrill.
The meals were all top notch, and the staff was so kind and accommodating.
The best parts, of course, were the game drives. Our guide Tyler was so much fun -- and went out of his way to answer questions for the kiddos and to make sure we had sightings of all the animals! We had sightings of all of the big 5 at the reserve -- and even saw leopard cubs! (And also saw so many others, like giraffe and cheetahs). Tshukudu lived up to its name with over 20 rhinos (many juveniles) -- we saw rhinos every day!
Overall, we had a wonderful stay and highly recommend!"

"The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was big with plenty of hot water.
We would like to have had more lights in the bedroom and bathroom. In the bedroom, there was only one fluorescent light on one wall.
The food was fresh and delicious. The bread was freshly baked as well the desserts. At breakfast, we could have an omelette made to order. Dinner was generally a buffet with chicken and another protein course, Along with salad, greens and vegetables and some type of rice or potato.
Plenty of water was provided to each guest in the room and on the game drives. But you were charged extra for the water if you asked for it at a meal
Outdoor seating for Meals was enjoyable.
The birds often enjoyed eating toast or croissants that were left unattended.
Many of the animals in the area would come up to the Electric fence, which was close to each dwelling. Giraffes lions and warthogs were frequent visitors. A pair of white ducks moved from Patio to patio, hoping for some breadcrumbs.
Definitely driving distance for a day trip to Kruger national Park.
Staff was friendly and helpfu."
