"Lovely as it looks. Go early to beat the crowds (arrived at 9am to no crowds at the castle)
Views both from the lake side to the top of the castle are all stunning.
The castle and the church are a must! Go ahead and splurge on the ticket to ring the bell in the church!
Be mindful of the 98 stairs to climb when you arrive by boat to the island with the church.
There is a path that winds down the back side from the top , back to the boat “meet up” location.
There are no restrooms at the boat level!
The water is spectacular- shades of turquoise, blues and greens from various algae growth .
The town is small and can get overrun with traffic. We took a tour from Ljubljana which was convenient-dropping us at the door steps of the venues.
Deserves more exploring if there is time but it’s a convenient day trip from Ljubljana."
