"On April 12th, my husband and I came to your city from Novosibirsk, SPECIALLY to see the play "Memorial Prayer." On April 5th, we watched this play, called "Tevye's Daughters," in one sitting at the Barnaul Musical Comedy Theater. There was a lot of wonderful Jewish music, a beautifully designed stage, and intricate, vibrant sets. But when we came to you, we were very, very disappointed. The stage sets were so shabby! Even though you're not on tour, you're at home, on your own stage! We couldn't even find two heads of cheese or a goose!!! (This is the opinion of those sitting nearby, too)! Could you put tables and chairs out there instead of sitting on little houses and drinking from glasses? Where's the aesthetics and culture? People eat, walk, and die on carts! The actors weren't bad! But it would have been better if they hadn't danced at all! It was like they cut it off, the end of the play! Dear director, set designers, and stage designers, please go to Barnaul and see the musical comedy theater. Watch Tevye's Daughters or ANY other production, and learn! I understand you're a drama theater, not a musical comedy theater! Look at their set design and the acting! Sorry, I don't feel like going to see any more of your performances. Good luck to your theater!"
