"As soon as my feet touched the ground of Transbaikalia, I decided, "Enough sitting in a taxi, time to conquer ancient times." And so my path led to Titovskaya Sopka—an ancient paleovolcano. Yes, I'm not kidding: you stand on the slope and realize that magma was boiling beneath you millions of years ago, and now you're walking along a trail with a bottle of water, taking photos of pigeons.
The climb turned out to be easy, but the reward at the summit was a bit unexpected: a panoramic view of the city and the railway tracks. The trains rumble so rhythmically that it's as if the local soundtrack were playing: "Welcome to Chita, listen to our beat!"
The main guardian of the summit is the chapel. It was tightly closed, but even from the outside it looks impressive. Behind the chapel is an engraving of Alexander Nevsky: he stands in armor, like a local Batman. I want to ask, "Well, Prince, is the hill all right?"
Nearby is a large area with shady benches. The Transbaikal sun is so blazing that these trees become a traveler's best friends. It's a comfortable place to sit, catch your breath, and feel like the hero of a hike, however short.
And a legend adds drama: they say that at the foot of the hill rests a shaman who gave her soul to save people from a plague. To this day, people bring gifts here, as if leaving notes for the mountain's guardian. Honestly, standing there, you begin to respect such stories: they make the hill not just geology, but a living chronicle.
A little higher up stands a cross. I didn't reach it—I left myself a reason to return. But I suspect the views from there are much broader and clearer: like the last paragraph in a diary, summing up the entire trip."

"The mountain offers a beautiful panorama of the city as if in the palm of your hand. The road to the natural monument is the ancient Moscow tract, also known as the Pillar Road. It was marked by stone pillars with iron eagles on top. Two pillars like gates. And one pillar has been preserved in Perm, it was called Siberia. Siberia began here, and people fell to the pillar, saying goodbye. The Pillar Road led to the West to the Holy Places. This road was called the Catherine's Tract, because she planted it with a birch alley so that the road would not be covered with snow. Before her, it was the Elizavetinsky Tract, she visited the Holy springs of Molokovka water and the Holy Lake. The village of Elizavetino is named in honor of Elizaveta. The film Dauria was filmed in this village."
