Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Paleontological Museum Orlov as a top Moscow attraction, highlighting its vast and impressive collection spanning billions of years, particularly the awe-inspiring dinosaur skeletons and the remarkably preserved mammoth 'Dima'. While the museum is generally not overcrowded and offers a great educational experience for all ages, some visitors note that facilities like the cafeteria and restrooms may require updates or be temporarily closed.

"Probably the best museum to visit in Moscow. Even those people who do not understand the topic were delighted. A large museum, wonderfully decorated, wonderful exhibits covering the period from the Archean to the modern historical living world, that is, about 4 billion years. If you are weak in the topic of paleontology, if audio guides and professional tour guides are employees of the local paleontological institute. The museum is large, so be prepared to walk a long time and a lot. But it is definitely worth it. I recommend it for a mandatory visit."

"Absolutely stunning art, which is not what you normally expect to see at a natural history museum (ceramics, bronze sculptures, relieff, paintings) and , of course, amazing fossils! My favourite since childhood. However, when we were there, both the cafeteria and the gift shop were closed for reconstruction, which is unfortunate when you visit the museum with kids. The toilet facilities were also, in need of upgrades (which hopefully will come after the cafeteria is finished). Still, give the museum top grade, because it is a must-see, and the negative sides are assumed to be temporary"
