"August 2024. The lake is unique! Much has been written about it and many videos can be found, so I will not describe it. It is a must-see. However, like almost everywhere in our unique country, there is no service there. The locals charge 50₽ per person to pour a couple of liters of cold water on themselves 🤦🏻♂️ the locals call it "taking a shower" 🙄
Access to the lake from the village is difficult and disfigured by the barbaric human activity of salt mining. Therefore, you need to approach it from the other side. But you can get there only by 4x4 and you also need to somehow get past the locals, who tried to block all more or less access roads.
A wonderful resort can be created from this place (an investor and patron of the project is needed) 😎 and there would be work for the locals and more money for the treasury. But for now, they are going along the path of dug up salt, sold it, earned a penny. Decline, despondency and poverty are evident."

A salt lake in the Akhtubinsky district of the Astrakhan region, located on the territory of the Bogdinsko-Baskunchaksky state nature reserve.
The area of the lake is about 106 km².
The lake has been known since the 17th century as a salt deposit.
In the 60s of the last century, the surface of the lake was used for high-speed races, during which 29 all-Union speed records were set, including the absolute all-Union record of 311.4 km/h. But now, due to active salt mining and changes in the hydrogeological situation, the surface of the lake has become unsuitable for races.
Now, salt production on the lake reaches up to 80% of the total salt production in Russia, which is from 1.5 to 5 million tons of salt per year."
