What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Kazan City Panorama Museum for its incredibly detailed 3D models of Kazan across different centuries, enhanced by impressive light shows and a captivating circular film. The interactive photo opportunities with historical figures are a highlight, making it enjoyable for all ages. While some note the focus on historical periods over Soviet and modern times, the overall experience is considered rich, educational, and well worth the admission fee.
"The City Panorama museum exhibits the life in Kazan city, including how the Tatars lived after Ivan the Terrible's conquest until the 1917 revolution (curiously, it mentioned next to nothing about both Soviet Era and now). The best parts of the museum are the detailed city models in 16th, 18th, and 21st century. The 3D mapping and lights show in those models are amazing. The circular panorama film is also interesting, however it provides no subtitles in English. Tablets with audioguide in several languages, including English, are provided and included in the ticket price -- the audioguide can be too long so I just read the description instead of listening to the recorded voice. You can also take pictures with 6 notable figures of Kazan, including Princess Suyumbike, Imam Kul Sharif, Catherine the Great, and Marcani. The ticket price may seem expensive but it's worth your rubels. Kids will love it too. A great attraction and it's really good when you want to escape the heat or cold outdoors."
