What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Chak-Chak Museum for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and the engaging, informative tours. The hands-on chak chak making workshops are a particular highlight, offering a delicious and memorable cultural experience. While some wish for more interactive elements in the general presentation, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending it as a must-visit for its authentic taste of Tatar culture.
"Enjoyed making Chak Chak with Aida as part of a workshop. I was slightly worried it would be awkward as I was the only student but she was a lovely and gracious host, and put me at ease immediately. She also gave clear instructions about how to make the dessert. During the time, she told me about not only the dessert and Tartar culture but also Kazan in general. I had a pleasant time chatting with me and enjoyed drinking tea after too."

"An excellent small museum with warm welcoming atmosphere. A charming hostess dressed in traditional costume gave us a presentation of the city past, traditional lifestyle and through the story covered the history and authentic chack-chack cooking process. Along the presentation she offered a cap of fragrant tee with some traditional sweets including chack-chack. My only suggestion is to make the story even more interactive by letting visitors to witness the cooking process or even let them to participate and dust their hands in flour. Five stars anyway."

"Loved this place! Really nice tour that takes one hour. The tour guide knew a lot of English and thought me a lot of history about Kazan and the Tartar people that would have been hard to learn anywhere else. Thank you so much for a great expirience!"
