Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Toro Negro State Forest for its stunning natural beauty, offering a less crowded rainforest experience compared to El Yunque. The observation tower provides breathtaking panoramic views, and the hiking trails lead to refreshing waterfalls and a unique cold plunge pool. Some travelers note the challenging road access and trail conditions, advising caution and proper gear.

"Nice hike up a marginally maintained trail. The piscina (swimming pool is abandoned) trail was recommended by the ranger. After seeing where our planned trail intersected, we knew why. It was totally overgrown.
Forgot bug spray, but had no problem, which could have been a bad mistake! Also forgot to take wife's wallet from the vehicle, but nobody messed with the car.
Bathrooms up the hill at the ranger station.
The roads to/from San Juan are crazy narrow and curvy!
We came via Toro Verde Adventure Park."
