What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors lament the closure of the Łazienki Borowinowe Mud Baths, a historically significant and architecturally beautiful building. While its current state is disappointing, its exterior charm, particularly the vine-covered facade and riverside location, still captivates those who pass by. Hopes remain high for future renovation to restore its former glory.
"It's a shame it stands abandoned and closed. It's one of the oldest and most architecturally beautiful buildings in Krynica-Zdrój. Built in 1880, it once housed treatment rooms and an analytical laboratory; today, we can only admire it from the outside. It's located at the end of the pedestrian zone on Dietla Boulevard."

"One of the most beautiful spa buildings in Krynica Zdrój is still waiting for funding for a renovation that would give it a second life and restore its representative character. Even though the building has been empty for years, its external appearance is not terrible - the southern façade is picturesquely covered with vines and surrounded by plants, and the Kryniczanka River flows along it, which makes an overall very good impression. However, the city, instead of exposing this beauty and trying to mask the fact that the building is permanently vacant (at least by hanging curtains in the windows) at a low cost, prefers to cover the "corpse" by placing it on the promenade on the side of the street. Ebers, a row of tacky stalls selling crap food and Chinese souvenirs. This type of thinking about monuments does not require millions of grants, just a bit of effort and sensitivity."

"Old, interesting architecture. The building was erected in 1881 in an eclectic style. In its early years, it was headed by Dr. Henryk Ebers."

The hope is that securing the necessary funding will allow for its restoration, bringing it back to its former glory and potentially reopening it as a functional spa facility or a cultural attraction.
