"We availed the day tour package with buffet at Mactan Newtown Beach for ₱1,288 on a Friday, hoping to enjoy a relaxing beach resort experience in Cebu. Unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations.
The “hut” included in the package wasn’t functional at all. It didn’t provide real shade or shelter—rain and sun still came in from the sides, making it more aesthetic than practical. There’s also no proper drop-off point directly at the resort entrance, so guests have to walk through the long walkway first before getting in, which wasn’t convenient.
The buffet was another major disappointment. For the price, we expected more variety and better service. Instead, it only offered two kinds of shellfish, grilled chicken, tuna, and pork belly, plus two desserts and one glass of mango juice. Refills took a long time, and when food finally came out, it was in very small portions. This caused long lines, people cutting ahead, and others taking more than their share because of the limited quantity.
Overall, the experience didn’t feel worth the price, especially considering the additional transportation costs. We ended up not even using the pool because we were already tired and disappointed, and the weather kept switching between rain and sun. It just wasn’t the relaxing day we hoped for."
