"This beach is one of the most scenic on the South Island West Coast. You can watch the sun set over the ocean, and the rocks and surf are mesmerizing! It is a must see if you're in the area. It's a quick 15 min walk to the ocean's edge on a well maintained trail through the bush. It's not wheelchair friendly, but is suitable for people who don't hike and for kids. You come out onto a viewing platform with railings and a bench. But there is then a staircase down onto the beach that is accessible at low tide. The rip current is vicious and I would strongly advise against going into the surf, but it's breathtaking to walk along the pebble beach or sit on the rocks and watch the surf."
