What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Forest Amble Sculpture Walk as a delightful and family-friendly experience, praising the charming wooden sculptures and peaceful forest setting. While generally easy and stroller-friendly, recent storm damage has made some sections challenging, and checking trail conditions is advised.
"The Forest Amble Sculpture Walk is an absolute delight and a perfect family-friendly stroll.
The track begins at the main entrance to the Hanmer Forest Park on Jollies Pass Road. At this entrance, there is a main car park and information board, as well as toilets but there are no toilets on the track itself.
The track is an easy, flat loop that takes about 30 minutes, making it ideal for young children. I went in winter, the path was a bit muddy and there is a few tree roots and very slightly uneven so not ideal for wheelchairs but a good push chairs will work out well.
The real magic, is in the beautiful wooden sculptures of animals and creatures carved from an old redwood tree. They are scattered along the path, and spotting them as you go is a lot of fun.
The walk is peaceful, with birdsong adding to the ambiance, and the trees provide great shade if you are walking in summer. It's a wonderful, relaxing and a unique experience."

"Great spot for an easy stroll! Some of the track was closed due to the hawk nesting. Lots of uprooted trees from a storm. Will walk again!"
