Sure, we love getting out into the mountains, hopping in rivers, but we’re also city people - we love thrifting, cheap eats, ditching the car , taking transit & trying a million coffee shops. ✦ ACCOMMODATION* ✦ 🌴 Emerald Inn, Takapuna Beach Aucklands ONLY beachfront accommodation. Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Duder Regional Park for its well-maintained walking tracks, stunning coastal views, and the charming presence of farm animals. The park is considered a peaceful escape with clean amenities and responsive council support. However, some note the drive can be long, and caution is advised regarding car security and potential muddy conditions after rain.

"A great place for walking with well-maintained, stable tracks that make it easy and enjoyable for all ages. The amenities are clean and well looked after, adding to the comfort of the visit. The automated gate system is especially useful for exiting the park after hours. I was also impressed by the council’s helpline—very responsive and helpful when needed. Overall, the park is well-managed and makes for a peaceful and pleasant outdoor experience. Perfect for a day out in nature."

"Excellent hike, bit of a drive to get there but the views are worth it! Some notes -
Parking is limited and entrance is free.
Toilets by the parking area, but water is untreated. BYO snacks and rehydration.
Early mornings are great however, rain and wet grass and several muddy patches will require better hiking equipment, waterproof hiking boots and even hiking gear. Watch out for slippery slopes, muddy paths and cow pies. Livestock roaming between fences and gates, please respect property boundaries, keep gates and fences closed. Farm animals generally ignore you as you pass by, and a few disgruntled cows did reluctantly trod away. Weather permitting, rainy days offer no shelter out on this hike, hot sunny days would be perfect. Not all picnic tables are clean, the ducks do kinda get around... The views are absolutely worth it. Two thumbs up!!"

"If you're hankering for a bit of coastal cruisin' and some proper harbour views, this one is for you. There's a varied level of tracks for any fitness.

Rolling green hills, the squawk of gulls, and views that'll have you snapping pics like a tourist. It's a bit of a trek up those hills, but the panoramas are brilliant! Perfect for a day out with families and or friends.

The top views are worth the leg burn. The flat track is a slice of Kiwi coastline! both worth it.
I urge you to keep on eye on the weather and winter will make for a pretty mud filled day. Either way hiking shoes i think are in order.
Get after it! BinkyT"
