Achter een kleine, onopvallende gevel op de Middelstegracht in Leiden zit een museumparel verstopt. In het Leids Wevershuis wandel je door de Lakengeschiedenis van Leiden en zie je alles over het eeuwenoude ambacht weven. Heel mooi!

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Museum Het Leids Wevershuis for its authentic 16th-century weaver's home setting and the engaging presence of friendly volunteers and artists. The free admission and the intriguing blend of historical artifacts with contemporary art exhibitions are frequently highlighted as major positives, offering a unique and enriching cultural experience.

"Simple but nice museum illustrating a weavers home from the mid 1500's. It has a feel of the period with work, kitchen and sleeping areas being exhibited with many years of use rather than freshly painted and spruced up. Besides looms and other materials depicting the weaving process the contemporary weaver exhibits added a fresh colorful ambience to the site. We were welcome by two very friendly weavers one whose art works were on display and one a local fiber artist. Very worth a visit."

Rodney

"Great little (free!) museum in a 16th century weavers home. The house appears untouched for over 109 years - definitely worth a visit!"

Jacobus de Graaf

"High quality craft with very kind staff"
