What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Van Gogh Museum for its extensive and breathtaking collection, offering a deep dive into the artist's life and work. The chronological layout and insightful audio guide are frequently highlighted as enhancing the experience. However, the high volume of visitors and the necessity of booking tickets far in advance can be a point of frustration for some.
"There is a reason that this is one of the world's most famous museum! What an amazing place. It makes you so proud being Dutch. We enjoyed our more than 2 hour journey through the museum and took our time to observe the amazing paintings and the storey behind the paintings. It does not matter which one we loved most It matters what you see and love from art. In any museum anywhere. ENJOY 😉"

"It is one of the best museums I have visited so far.
Besides a vast collection of Van Gogh, they have paintings by painters who inspired him or were inspired by Van Gogh.
You have to book the tickets way in advance and be on time. The audio guide is not free, but it is definitely worth renting. We spent about 3 hours here, but we could have done faster if we had only visited the highlights.
Excellent and professional staff."

"Beautiful artwork and very informative on Van Gogh’s life. Our visit was late in the day and there were still crowds but were able to look around with ease. I would say that unless you are really into the artist, don’t just visit because it seems like the thing to do like we did. On top of the cost and time walking around, you could choose another museum that would be more your thing."
