What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
While the ONCF Train Museum offers a glimpse into Morocco's railway history with vintage trains and memorabilia, some visitors note that the exhibits may show their age. The museum is a good stop for train enthusiasts and families looking for a unique historical experience in Rabat.
"ONCF, redefining punctuality, apparently “on time” now means almost an hour late. And the cherry on top? Asking us to board a train that wasn’t even supposed to stop here, packed like sardines, because… why not? Comfort, safety, and basic planning clearly aren’t part of the ticket price. Thanks for the premium cattle transport experience. 5 stars for creativity, zero for professionalism."

"I recently had one of the worst experiences with ONCF, which I feel compelled to share.
I booked a ticket for the premium class, expecting a comfortable and pleasant journey. However, my experience was far from that. The air-conditioning was not working, making the compartment unbearably hot and stuffy. To make matters worse, the entire area had a terrible odor, reminiscent of a toilet. It was incredibly unpleasant and made the journey very uncomfortable.
The noise levels were also extremely high, making it difficult to relax or even think clearly. The combination of these factors made the journey quite miserable. It's disappointing and frustrating to see such poor conditions in what is supposed to be a premium service.
As a Moroccan, it's disheartening to witness such standards. It is high time that ONCF addresses these issues and improves the quality of their services. This experience was shamefully sad, and I hope that necessary steps are taken to ensure that other passengers do not have to endure the same ordeal."

"Imagine paying almost double in First Class wagons, just to find this. Do some efforts in renewing the interiors of your trains, really shameful for a company that represents Morocco.
Everything makes you feel disgusted. The only train that's almost worth every penny is the newest one (Boraq) and it's not maintained from outside at all. Companies save costs without compromises while ONCF saves money by being lazy and disappointing."

Understanding ONCF and its Services
Recent traveler feedback, however, highlights significant issues with ONCF's current service quality. Complaints frequently mention punctuality problems, with trains often running late. Passengers have also reported issues with comfort and maintenance, including non-functional air conditioning, unpleasant odors, and broken seats, even in premium classes.
Furthermore, some reviews point to overcrowding and lack of proper seat allocation, leading to conflicts among passengers. The absence of competition is cited as a potential reason for these service lapses. While the museum showcases the historical pride of ONCF, these contemporary reviews suggest a need for substantial improvements in passenger experience.
