Visitors praise Mission San José del Cabo for its historical significance, tranquil atmosphere, and beautiful architecture, particularly the mosaic art. The surrounding Plaza Mijares and Gallery District are highlighted for their vibrant art scene and charm, especially during the Thursday Art Walk. Some find it a peaceful alternative to the busier Cabo San Lucas.

"During my visit to Cabo on Feb 2025, I wanted to visit San Jose Del Cabo for the day. Our hotel concierge suggested to call for an Uber to the Mision, the heart of this neighborhood.

This was my second time to visit this church. This time we came and sat down for a prayer before seeing the rest of downtown. It's a quiet church, old with a lot of generations of history. It's beautiful and reminded me of me of the cathedrals from my childhood city in the only Spanish colony in Asia. For hundreds of years my childhood country was tied in for commercial trade between Cabo and the Philippines. So it's special."

"If you like Mexico, you will like it here. A lot of art. Much less noisy than Cabo St Lucas. If you are looking for a spring break atmosphere, then go there. Else come here. Don't expect any bargains either place."

Ken Win

"Beautiful little historic chapel in the downtown San Jose del Cabo. Well preserved, clean and very tranquil."
