"Great place to relax watch the waves and catch whales, sea lions and nature!"

"I visited this beach during my trip to Cabo with my dog. The beach is located in a gated community that you need a car or ride to get to. You leave your license with the security gate and they give you a pass to drive down on paved roads to the beach entrance. Once there you can park along the curb and walk a not inconsiderable distance down to the beach. I found the beach to be very rocky and on the smaller side. It was very difficult to walk down by the water because the “sand” (which is really just small rocks) hurts your feet and was too loose and sucked your feet in. It was dog friendly and at one point there were about 5 or 6 dogs on the beach just enjoying, minding their own business and not bothering anyone. It is very hot at Cabo beaches and you need an umbrella or shade if you visit during peak hours of the day. If I had limited time in Cabo I would say you can skip this beach."

Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Key recommendations for families: Bring plenty of shade (umbrellas are a must!), sturdy footwear for navigating the rocky terrain, and snacks and drinks, as amenities are scarce. Focus on building sandcastles (or rockcastles!), exploring tide pools if present, and enjoying the scenic views rather than extensive swimming. The drive through the gated community can also be an exciting part of the adventure for children.
🐶 Pet Owners
Important considerations for pet owners: Ensure your dog is comfortable with rocky terrain, as the beach is not soft sand. Always bring plenty of water for your pet, as well as shade to protect them from the intense Cabo sun. Keep an eye on your dog around the water, as the waves and currents can be strong even if they are experienced swimmers.
📸 Photography Enthusiasts
To maximize your photographic opportunities, aim for the golden hours of sunrise or sunset for the most flattering light. The beach's rocky composition can also lead to interesting textures and foreground elements in your shots. Keep an eye out for marine life like sea lions, which can add dynamic subjects to your portfolio. Remember to bring your wide-angle lens for landscapes and potentially a telephoto lens if you hope to capture distant wildlife.

Navigating Access to Cabo Bello Beach
Once you've parked along the curb, be prepared for a walk down to the shoreline. The terrain can be a bit challenging, especially as the 'sand' is composed of small rocks that can make footing difficult. It's a small price to pay for the relative seclusion and tranquility that Cabo Bello offers compared to more popular tourist beaches.
This gated access contributes to the beach's reputation as a 'hidden gem' and a more private escape. While it requires a bit more effort to get to, many find the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery well worth the journey.
Understanding Beach Safety and Conditions
Instead of focusing on swimming, visitors often recommend enjoying the beach for its scenic beauty, relaxing on the shore, and observing the natural environment. The rocky composition of the beach, while making walking difficult, also contributes to its unique character. It's a place to appreciate the raw power and beauty of the Pacific Ocean from a safe distance.
For those seeking aquatic activities, exploring nearby areas known for calmer waters or organized tours might be a better option. However, for a tranquil experience of sunbathing, enjoying the views, and perhaps spotting marine life like sea lions or even whales during migration season, Cabo Bello Beach is a wonderful choice.
Photography Opportunities at Cabo Bello
A major photographic draw is the stunning view of El Arco, Cabo's famous natural rock arch, visible from the western end of the beach. This iconic landmark provides a dramatic backdrop for any photograph. The surrounding landscape, with its lush vegetation, further enhances the visual appeal, offering diverse compositions.
For the best photographic results, consider visiting during the golden hours – early morning or late afternoon. The soft, warm light enhances the colors of the sand and water, and the reduced crowds allow for unobstructed shots. The beach's natural beauty, combined with the chance to capture wildlife and the iconic El Arco, makes Cabo Bello a rewarding location for photography enthusiasts.
