I have participated in many morning group meditations, drop-in classes, an unforgettable ten day silent meditation retreat, the first and second yoga modules, and almost six months of the intensive Karma Yoga Program. In my experience, anyone can find encouragement and divine grace in the ancient, syncretic spiritual teachings gathered and transmitted by the school's founder. "I had the privilege of attending the 10 day Silent Meditation retreat at Hridaya this autumn. I'd heard amazing things from many different friends and acquaintances about Hridaya over the years, but never carved out time to dedicate to the practice, but now that I've finally done it...I wonder what took me so long?
I won't comment too much on my personal experience, because everyone's experience will be profound and unique to them, but I will say that it was challenging and beautiful and exactly what I have been craving and needing. The center is in a beautiful location, a very short walk to the beach, the instructors (Claud and Iris in this instance) were absolutely amazing - so experienced, grounded, engaging, and present. The lectures and practices were excellent, the food phenomenal, and it felt like a very safe space with a clear, healthy and grounded and non-dogmatic methodology focused on positive virtues and the heart.
The 10 days were humbling... and I will definitely be back. I cannot believe how rested at a deep level, and well I feel after being there.
I recommend anyone who feels a little whisper in their heart who wants to attend a retreat, to go for it."
