What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Estacahuite Beach is praised for its local charm, clear waters, and good snorkeling opportunities. Visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the fresh seafood available at beachfront restaurants. However, some caution is advised due to sharp rocks near the water's edge.
"Nice beach mostly visited by locals and a few tourists. It has some snorkelling areas with rocks/reefs and some suitable swimming area. Still be careful of sharp small rocks when you go in or out of ocean. There are three small beaches connected together - I liked the most left one (northern) where you can have more privacy and still enjoy all beach activities. Water is clear and warm. About 18 mins drive from Zipolite (taxi costs 150 Mex)"

"Beautiful little beach in three parts. We checked them all out but chose to spend our time at the most westerly.
There is some natural shade there. Entering the water was easy at all three parts--which have sections of full sand beaches--and snorkeling near the rocks was good.
All the restaurants on this day, except Restaurante July, were only preparing full plated dishes. Beer was plentiful.
Taxi from Puero Ángel muelle was 40Mx. From Playa Panteòn it is 70Mx. Zipolite to Estacahuite should be 140Mx."

Exploring Estacahuite's Three Beaches
When planning your visit, consider that the rocky areas between the beaches can be slippery, so tread carefully. The clarity of the water is generally good, making it inviting for a dip. While the sand is pleasant, the presence of small, sharp rocks near the water's edge is a common point of mention, reinforcing the need for water shoes.
This unique configuration of coves provides a varied landscape that appeals to different preferences. Whether you're looking for solitude, a convenient spot to swim, or a place to dine with a view, Estacahuite's multiple sections ensure there's something for everyone.
Snorkeling and Marine Life
Visitors often report seeing fish around the rocks, making it a worthwhile activity for those who enjoy observing the underwater world. While it might not rival world-class diving destinations, the accessibility and natural beauty of the marine environment at Estacahuite make it a highlight for many. Remember to bring your own snorkel gear or inquire if rentals are available locally.
It's important to note that the same rocks that attract marine life can also pose a hazard. Be mindful of your footing when entering and exiting the water, and consider wearing water shoes to protect your feet from any sharp edges. This simple precaution can significantly enhance your snorkeling and swimming experience.
Local Flavors and Beachfront Dining
Beyond the main dishes, you can expect a good selection of beverages, including refreshing cocktails and cold beer, perfect for sipping while soaking up the sun. The prices are generally considered reasonable, with many visitors noting that a chair rental can be included with a food or drink purchase, offering good value for a few hours of enjoyment.
While the focus is heavily on seafood, it's always a good idea to inquire about other options if you have dietary restrictions. Supporting these local eateries not only provides a delightful culinary experience but also contributes to the community's economy.
