Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museo Regional de Guadalajara for its rich historical and archaeological exhibits, particularly the impressive mammoth skeleton and the colonial-era art galleries. The beautiful 18th-century building and its courtyard add to the charm, offering a peaceful and educational experience. While some note it's a smaller museum, its curated collections provide a solid understanding of Jalisco's heritage.

"Museum is unique with history and 1600-1700 gallery and paintings upstairs. Walk in the wood floor in the art gallery. Everyone will hear you coming. I really enjoyed the courtyard while sitting upstairs on the old benches. I had the entire museum and courtyard to myself."

"Came for the food, stayed for the flavors! El Pilón de los Arrieros serves Mexican dishes so authentic, you’ll forget you’re a tourist. Delicious, hearty, and unforgettable. 🌮🇲🇽"

Peter Lu

"The regional museum of Guadalajara is an excellent place to come and spend an afternoon as there is a lot to see and learn.

The museum has a main focus of showcasing the history of the state of Jalisco but also the history of the city of Guadalajara. Everything from the ancient people who inhabited the area and the findings of their bones and artifacts to the history of the building used for the museum.

They had a rather wide variety of exhibits located throughout the museum but I liked this as there was something different to learn about in each exhibit. Even if you don’t want to read the description of each and every item, simply observing the contents of the different sections is entertaining enough.

I guarantee you will not be disappointed if you come to this museum."
