What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Esplora Interactive Science Centre is overwhelmingly praised as a highlight in Malta, offering engaging, hands-on exhibits that make science fun for all ages. Visitors rave about the planetarium shows, stunning harbor views, and the well-designed, accessible learning environment, often comparing it favorably to international science centers. While generally a hit, some very young children might find the dark planetarium room daunting.
"Esplora has to be one of the highlights of our time in Malta. Even if you are not a science geek or an enthusiast, the exhibits are well-crafted and scientific concepts accessible to everyone.
The planetarium shows were educational and entertaining - both our boys, 14 and 9 enjoyed it.
The historic building is spaced out sufficiently that it did not feel crowded. Its architecture blends the old and the modern, giving it a very chic feel. And the views - the glorious 360 views outside - are actually better than many gardens in Valletta, such as from Upper and Lower Barrakka.
What I also like are the positive life-affirming signages that are scattered throughout the facility. A very nice touch.
Lastly, I have to say that this science museum is better than many other similar ones in London, Singapore, and New York - to Malta's credit. Highly recommended!"

"We went with 5 and 3 year old kids. They said “we went to the best museum in the world! A museum only for kids!!!” We went to the planetarium too, the 3 year old didn’t like to be in a dark room so me and he went out to see the space exhibition an dad with the 5 year old enjoyed the show! The best part was when we were about to leave we found a rabbit hole in the playground it was very nice I went inside, too! The family section with the balla was amazing the kids was there more than an hour… I recommend it for all ages it explains very nice and easy to understand every day physics we see around us!"

"Very nice facility, full of fun for kids, and the planetarium is wonderful. You need to go early, so you will have time to visit all, and have time to leisure around the nice building. The staff is very polite and very thoughtful, especially the guy working at the planetarium. Lovely experience!"
