What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Rasdhoo Island is praised for its authentic local charm, stunning diving and snorkeling, and affordability compared to resorts. Visitors appreciate the welcoming locals and the convenience of accessing numerous dive sites. Some find the island small with limited activities beyond water sports and dining options.
"Rashdoo is charming, a great place to experience a local Maldivian island minus any fancy resorts. The island is tiny, 600mtrs by 500mtrs, has a population of around 1200 people, but it has all the infrastructure being the administrative capital for north Ari atoll - a school, magistrate, post office, hospital and even a full size football field.
It is 70 minutes on a speedboat ferry (there are at least 2 a day) from Male airport.
The dive sites around Rasdhoo are amazing. Madivaru Channel, Madivaru Corner and Manta Point being the most popular spots. You can see manta rays, reef sharks, turtles, barracuda, and plenty of colorful fish.
The sand bank is a great place to snorkel.
There are many comfortable guest houses and boutique hotels, and a few decent restaurants. The Maldivian breakfast (minced tuna mixed with coconut and spices served with rotis) is really nice.
Jerry's diving school is the best of the lot, very good team and good equipment."

"A fantastic island showing the true Maldivian hospitality. Rasdhoo is the main island around this atoll and is almost perfectly circle shaped with a estimated diameter of 500 meters max. As you understand this means theres not too much to do here, but you got what you need; three restaurants and some hotels also offering food, a few cafes, a hookah place and lot of markets and souvernir stores. There are beaches all around to use, and there are plenty of dive shops. Your time on Rasdhoo will be perfect, as all the locals are truly welcoming and eager to try their English. I recommend this island wholeheartedly! If you disagree please take me along next time and tell my why 🙏🏻😎"

"Go rather to Ukulhas or Of you are in the area. Thoddoo coral reef with plenty of fish and long wide sandy beaches are unbeatable. Ukulhas has a very good vibe, selection of restaurants and nicer beach as well. Rashdoo is cool, endorsing the football Maldivian culture with couple of nice places to eat but the beach and reef is fading compared to it's neighbours."
