What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ukulhas Island offers stunning natural beauty with its pristine beaches and vibrant marine life, including frequent shark sightings. However, visitors should be aware of significant ongoing construction and some areas of litter, which detract from the 'paradise' image for some. Despite these drawbacks, many find the island's charm, diverse dining, and affordability make it a worthwhile visit.
"Wonderful Island! A lot of construction is going and in a few years won't be the same, but probably the place will have another charm.
Enough delicious restaurants (sea, thai, indian, italian)
Great reefs to both beach sides, different in corals and marine life. Wort it.
Around the island, there are also different snorkelling coral spots, which are even more generous and beautiful than this on the island.
Cheap, exotic fruits. Recommended"

"Well where to begin.
The beach and sea are stunning, so alive with fish, sharks of various sizes. Manta rays and whale sharks on boat trips aswell are sand bank picnics and other options.
The island inside the beach area is not good, lots of construction, litter/building material waste, uncompleted jobs and metal shuttering. We were so surprised as we were expecting the paradise island advertised.
We're still glad we came but you have to see beyond the mess.
Sorry we would not return to this island and would recommend looking at other islands without these issues.
It doesn't feel right to add negative photos so here's the beach and some lemon sharks from the harbour."

"More development present here, sidewalks are present, roads will be next.
At time of review (nov 24) quite a lot of new buildings are being constructed so there can be some noise. Friendly people. Baby sharks."
