What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Batu Ferringhi Night Market offers a lively atmosphere with a wide variety of street food and shopping options, particularly on Thursdays and Fridays. While some visitors note a decrease in stall variety compared to the past, it remains a popular spot for bargain hunting and experiencing Malaysian street culture. The proximity to the beach and affordable dining options are definite highlights.
"The place had its charm, but it felt rather desolate—perhaps the quiet was amplified by the fact that we visited on a Wednesday night, a typical school night. There weren’t many attractions around, and while it’s located near the beach, we didn’t get to enjoy the seaside view since we arrived at 8pm, well past sunset.
Would I recommend it? That really depends. If you're seeking solitude or a quiet spot to unwind, it might suit your vibe. But if you're after vibrant energy or things to explore, you might want to look elsewhere—or come at a different time."

"Was there recently September 2025 and was disappointed as it wasn’t like what it use to be, very few retail stalls with less variety, also less dining options. Visitors who choose to stay on that side of the island look for walks to the night market which is fun to do especially after dinner for some fun, bargain shopping. Hope the local authorities look to revive the night market and offer some form of assistance to attract the local arts, crafts; culture & coffee communities to help revive this once vibrant and fun night market area. The upside is a fairly newer area further up - the Ferringhi Bay which offers a nice stretch of beachfront open concept eateries on the beach which is reasonable in terms of pricing and offers a good variety of dining options."

"A fair variety of clothing, art , toys and souvenirs. Unlike night markets in other cities this one is a series of stalls down the road which makes it a bit precarious to navigate during a crowded weekend evening. For those wanting to shop this is a good late night option. I didn't see too much that felt particularly unique but it's a good sampling of various goods for those with an appetite for that ."
