Reviews Summary
Altingsburg Lighthouse is a well-maintained historical site offering beautiful coastal views and unique wildlife encounters, particularly the Selangor Silvered Langurs. While the lighthouse itself is not accessible from the inside, the historical ambiance and the stunning sunset views make it a worthwhile visit. Some visitors note that there isn't a vast amount to do beyond enjoying the scenery and observing the monkeys, and the tram service can be unreliable.
"It's Geography Committee trip to Kuala Selangor in December 2024. I've never been to Bukit Malawati. It was my first time experience. I really enjoyed the view and loves the moments with my schoolmates. Bukit Malawati is a historical landmark that must be well-protected."

"Altingsburg Lighthouse is a historical landmark built in 1907 during the colonial era, and it remains one of the highlights of Bukit Malawati. The climb up to the lighthouse is very pleasant, and along the way you will spot small monkeys on the trees and railings. If you continue a little further, you will find many more of them. The view from the lighthouse is absolutely magnificent, offering a wide panorama over the coast.
A word of caution: the monkeys are wild animals, even if they seem almost tame. To avoid scratches or unpleasant situations, keep your bags and plastic bottles out of sight as they may try to grab them. If you want to feed them, give the food quickly, avoid sudden movements, and never try to pet them, let them initiate contact. If you respect these simple rules, you will find that the monkeys are not aggressive at all and are actually quite friendly to observe.
Overall, Altingsburg Lighthouse combines history, nature, and wildlife in a unique experience, and it is definitely worth a visit."

"The best time to come here is evening as the lighthouse is facing west and you can really catch a spectacular sunset on the horizon. I have been here many times before.
There's nothing much interesting here except there's a simple museum and you need to buy ticket for entry.
There are many wild monkeys around here. Try not to hold any plastic bags or foods in your hands as they may attempt to snatch it.
The scenery here is really amazing. If you are a photograph lover then you will love it here.
Taking tram up the hill is an interesting experience too.
There's a very beautiful mosque at the foothill."
