What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kepong Metropolitan Park is a beloved free recreational space in Kuala Lumpur, praised for its vast kite-flying fields and cycling trails. While the lake offers scenic views, some visitors note its water quality can be a drawback. It's a popular spot for families and active individuals seeking outdoor fun.
"A wonderful park with a beautiful lake (not sure if it's man-made or natural), and it has a great vibe and relaxing atmosphere. It's extremely cycling-friendly! You can bring your own bike, or if you don't have one, there are people renting bicycles right at the entrance gate.
One small downside was having to pay for the toilets, which I was initially disappointed about—but then I realized the entrance to the park is free, and the 0.20 cent fee for the restroom is actually reasonable to help maintain the place.
Evenings and weekends tend to be busier, as more people come out to enjoy the space, but the park is so spacious that it never feels too crowded. It's perfect for picnics, cycling, kite flying, or even a casual date!
I’m giving it 5 stars for being super cycling-friendly. There are well-marked cycling lanes throughout the park, and a full loop around it is about 6 to 7 km."

"This park is beautiful..clean, spacious and very well maintained. It's just that it's very crowded on Saturday and Sundays. I went during work hours and there was no one. The kids had fun without any disturbance😁 The food stalls are open and there are also bicycles for rent."

"Great park by the lake, comes evening people will make a visit from both near and far to enjoy its view and facilities. There's something for everyone and all age groups; you may bring your kite as it tends to get windy, picnic basket by the lake, huge playground for the little ones, there also the scooter or bicycle track in place, etc... Overall recommended for everyone and great upkeep by the municipality."
