What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reformat Park is a beautiful and historically significant green space, highly recommended for its dual playgrounds, relaxing hammocks, and pet-friendly atmosphere. Visitors appreciate its historical markers and the convenience of nearby dining options, though the on-site toilet incurs a small fee.
"Red bricks and stones mark some of the original structures on this land. The first evangelical reformed church was a wooden construction construction which is now marked by an outline of stones."
David Bell
"The Reformed Church settled in the pace of the park 400 years ago, when they were moved outside the defensive wall of the city due to disagreements with the Catholics. The park was formed in the last decade of the Soviet era, on the site of the former cemetery of the Evangelical Reformed religious community. Then Pylimo Street was Komsomolskaya (Communist Youth). During the Soviet era, the Evangelical Reformed church was turned into the "Kronika" cinema. The construction of the monument to "Soviet Partisans and Underground Workers" in 1983 in this square finally destroyed the nearly 500-year-old cemetery. The Soviet monument, which stood in the most visible place in the square, later became a part of the Grūtas Park in Druskininkai. A valuable baroque chapel was also damaged and the ground part was destroyed). There are still some registered immovable cultural values preserved in the territory: chapel-mausoleum crypt and the building of the Reformed Synod. In 2016 the reconstruction of the relatively neglected historical place of Vilnius started and was completed a couple of years ago. In my opinion, now it’s a beautiful, kids & pets friendly, and interesting park that on a sunny day invites everybody to relax. Highly recommend visiting this place on a lazy summer afternoon. I am also looking forward to seeing the sculpture dedicated to the Evangelical Reformed church completed as it’s still under construction. I also love how the old cultural heritage has been immortalised. Interesting chill quality time there is guaranteed."

"I like this park very much. There are adult hammocks and 2 playgrounds: for very little children and for older ones. Near the park there is a public transport stop and a bar. There is a toilet in the park, - most likely paid, - we have not used it yet."
