What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tad Soung Waterfall is lauded for its breathtaking power and dramatic views, especially during the wet season. Visitors appreciate the raw, natural beauty and the thrilling proximity to the falls' edge. However, some note that maintenance could be improved, and access can be challenging during the rainy season due to flooded roads.
"It’s not trivial to reach the bottom of the water fall just after the rainy season the road was not accessible because it was flooded. So we went for a viewpoint from the distance from a near by village, which the visit to the village was an attraction on its own."
Gabi Zodik
"You can drive to the top of the waterfall (last bit of road is a dirt road), parking is 10.000 kip for a motorbike. You walk down about 100 steps and you are on top of this high waterfall. In dry season you can walk all across the top to the other side.
I was there in the wet season so I could only go over a few rocks, but could not cross. However I did mean the fall was full on! I sat there without anybody else there for one hour, enjoying the beautiful views.
And don't forget to take a picture and/or admire the fall ground level at the bridge you cross (at the powerstation)"
Arieke
"Absolutely recommended if driving the Bolaven Loop! You can stop safely at the top after the village. Some kids followed and requested 10.000 KIP for parking which was totally fine, they were super kind and played around. Yes, it is all a little worn down but this accounts for almost all waterfalls which are jot really maintained except Tad Fane and so we had it all to ourselves in rainy season. Especially during that time of the year the waterfall was stunning! One of the best in the entire region!
The first part to the cliff of the waterfall is crazy. You walk down the stairs and you stand directly on the edge of the waterfall! I can not remember being that close before without any security measures, so be very careful!
But the views are amazing. You can also walk down to the bottom of the waterfall from there."
