"The Jordan Ahli Bank Numismatic Museum excels beyond measure in the outstanding quality of its collection and the friendly knowledgeable care of its manager Dr. Hassan who delights in sharing the knowledge accrued in this reputed institution. During my visit, he kindly offered Arabic coffee and showed me the museum's research library. The gallery opens at 8:30 am and its located on the second floor. It is free of charge and pictures are allowed.
The highlights include a superb collection of Roman Decapolis coins as well as Nabatean and Herodian. The museum is also known for its collection of Umayyad coins some of them struck in Medieval Spain. There are coins here from almost every corner on earth from the Iron Age to the present.
This often overlooked museum in Amman is a true gem in the city and a great part has to do with such welcoming atmosphere. It is a must see not only for numismatic lovers but for history aficionados in general."
