"A little pricey for being a bit off the beaten path, but it's a cool area to visit. According to the signage (lots in English), it was a declining tourist attraction before they turned it into a sort of art exhibit. We arrived at midday on a weekday and had to park in the #3 overflow lot and take a shuttle to the entrace. It's quite dark in the tunnels, and also wet in some areas, so take caution if you have any difficulty walking. There are 4 vista points inside the tunnel; three are art installations and one is just normal. There are cafes and shops outside."

Duration of stay: day trip.
Driving direction: we drove from Echigo Yugawa which took about an hour.
Parking: ample parking, open area, free.
Highlight: This tunnel is well covered with ample space for both young and old. There are a number of wheelchairs at the entrance provided free to visitor. The ground is flat, and the tunnel inside is cooling. It was raining when we arrived. We were happy to enjoy the walk inside, fulling sheltered. The first exhibition was sound. Followed by four view spots which was called Platform. First platform was a simpler one. The second platform was impressive, with a black and white line painted from ground to ceiling. In the middle there’s a metal dome shape structure. And there were two toilets inside! It’s the first time that we see toilets as part of the exhibit. Third platform was color for droplets lights. Finally the last platform was the highlight of the whole tunnel. It’s a super beautiful water reflection of the tunnel. Visitor can walk on both sides of the tunnel towards the edge to get a nice reflection shots. The water in the middle is deeper so dont want into it and get your shoe wet.
Overall, will i come back again? YES! The tunnel is 750m in length. To and fro will be 1.5km. The ground is flat, it’s covered and cooling, with a fantastic art installation, blendi nicely with the nature."
